Before, my room was very echo-ey, and now it's very quiet.

I DIY'd a bunch of panels for my room (8x 4" mineral wool bass traps mounted floor to ceiling on corners, 6x 2" panels at first reflection points, also some diffusers in various places).

Single row of 4 seats, middle two seats are only ones used 90% of time.Īcoustic treatments can give a great upgrade to your system, and can noticeably improve bass quality, soundstage, and imaging. I would be willing to put about $750 - $1000 into this, would that be worth it for this room?Īnother thing to note - I realize this won't do much for sound-proofing, more so looking to reduce reflections. I realize you can build your own for cheaper, but I don't have the tools, space, time, or patience for that, I'd prefer to buy them assembled. Mainly wondering if it's worth ordering some panels with a room like this, and if I can make a noticeable difference? I was looking at GIK products, specifically some of the 242 panels plus 244 bass traps and/or corner bass traps. My main thing, is this is not my forever home, definitely not an ideal theater to begin with, so I am not looking for perfection here. However, movies and gaming (primary uses) don't sound "bad", but I can't help but wonder if the clapping sounds that terrible, could my room benefit from sound treatment? If I stand in the middle and clap, the "echo"(?) is very noticeable. Very small, square layout, both I've heard are bad things for reflections. I have what would definitely be considered a non-ideal room for sound - an 11'x11' bedroom with 8' ceilings.
